About Balance Point

Our Approach

Balance Point Horse Training was created for horses and riders who want more than surface-level results. We exist to develop true partnership—through thoughtful training, deep understanding of both the horse’s and the rider's bodies, and a commitment to long-term soundness and trust.

We believe progress is found at the balance point: the place where strength meets softness, structure meets flow, and both horse and rider move with clarity and intention. Every program at Balance Point is designed to honor the individuality of the horse while educating the rider to move with greater awareness, feel, and responsibility.

This is not volume training. This is intentional, individualized development—rooted in respect for the horse and the craft of horsemanship.

About Juci Somogyi

Juci is the heart and guiding force behind Balance Point Horse Training. Known for her disciplined yet empathetic approach, she brings a rare balance of intensity and patience to every horse and rider she works with.

Her training philosophy is grounded in biomechanics, feel, and communication. Juci studies how horses move naturally—their balance, flow lines, and physical tendencies—and builds programs that support, rather than override, the horse’s body. She believes that softness cannot be demanded; it must be invited through clarity, timing, and trust.

Juci works closely with both horse and rider, ensuring that training is not only effective, but ethical and sustainable. Riders are educated as part of the process, learning how their own balance, posture, and timing directly influence the horse’s ability to soften and carry themselves with confidence.

Her goal is simple but uncompromising: to create sound, willing horses and educated riders who can continue to grow long after formal training ends.

Our Team

Balance Point Horse Training is supported by a dedicated team of professionals who share a commitment to thoughtful care, consistency, and respect for the horse.

From daily barn management to hands-on training support, each team member plays a critical role in maintaining an environment where horses can thrive. Attention to detail, calm routines, and clear communication ensure that every horse receives the care and consistency necessary for meaningful progress.

We also collaborate with trusted equine professionals—including veterinarians, farriers, and bodyworkers—to support rehabilitation, soundness, and overall wellbeing. This team-based approach allows us to care for the whole horse, not just the training session.

Together, we create a professional, supportive community where both horses and riders feel seen, understood, and valued.
